Diesel Mechanic Assistant

Performs all non-safety critical functions of school bus repair, assists mechanics as necessary.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 hours first shift
Payrate: $20/hr

• Perform servicing tasks and cleaning of filters
• Replace bulbs
• Lubricate equipment
• Remove wheels and tires
• Change fluids in buses
• Perform other maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisor
• Repair floors, seat backs, and coverings
• Replace mirrors and some exterior panels
• Add and remove decals

• High School degree or equivalent

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Possess a small set of hand tools, increasing as training progresses
• Ability to learn and perform maintenance skills

• Maintenance shop environment
• Physical ability to work in the trade
• Ability to lift up to 65 pounds
