The Manager of Analytics is a pivotal leadership role within the Populance Clinical Success Operations Analytics team. This role is responsible for ensuring data integrity, driving standardized data governance practices, and leading the technical and strategic work required to support both existing clients and new external partners. As Populance expands its analytics capabilities and external-client portfolio, this role serves as the primary owner of data validation frameworks, scalable data structures, and cross‑functional coordination necessary for high‑quality analytics delivery.
The Manager of Analytics serves as the director’s second in command, playing a key role in overall department operations, problem‑solving and longer‑term operational strategy. This role is critical to enabling Populance to scale sustainably while maintaining exceptional accuracy, client satisfaction, and operational excellence.
- Data Governance & Quality Assurance:
- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive data governance frameworks, validation processes, and quality assurance standards.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all internal and external reporting deliverables.
- Create and manage data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and standardized workflows.
- Establish and enforce best practices for data handling, transformation, and quality checks.
- Lead the development of scalable data structures and analytic frameworks that support both internal teams and external clients.
- Translate complex business needs into actionable technical requirements and analytical solutions.
- Partner with BI developers and analysts to ensure efficient, well‑validated, and repeatable data pipelines.
- Serve as the primary CSOA lead for new external clients.
- Coordinate data onboarding, validation, and integration activities for new entities.
- Act as a strategic advisor to client partners, ensuring that data requirements, timelines, and deliverables are well understood and met.
- Build sustainable analytics strategies tailored to each client’s operational and business needs.
- Serve as the connective point between Analytics, Operations, Product, clinical partners, and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate clear communication, expectation alignment, and seamless project flow across functions.
- Lead key meetings, presentations, and discussions related to data strategy, governance, and validation.
- Act as the director’s designated second-in-command, providing strategic support and stepping into leadership responsibilities as needed.
- Lead complex problem‑solving efforts, urgent analytics investigations, and high‑impact operational initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance quality, and scale data practices across the organization.
- Support the growth and mentorship of analytics staff and contribute to shaping the long‑term team structure.
- Foster a culture of quality, collaboration, documentation, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, analytics, computer science, health informatics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience in analytics, data engineering, data governance, or related technical roles.
- Demonstrated experience developing and operationalizing data validation, quality assurance, or governance frameworks.
- Strong SQL, data modeling, and ETL experience.
- Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
- Proven track record managing complex cross‑functional data or analytics projects.
- Exceptional problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience supporting healthcare or population health analytics.
- Experience onboarding or supporting external clients in a data/analytics capacity.
- Prior leadership experience or demonstrated potential for leadership.
- Master’s degree in related field (or equivalent experience).
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, PHI handling, and regulated data environments.
