Job Description
MOTOR Information Systems (an operating group of Hearst) designs information solutions for the vehicle aftermarket-built from decades of automotive parts, repair, and service content. Our teams deliver those solutions as printed books, data extracts, web services, and software applications.
We're hiring a Summer 2026 Information Technology Intern to join our Product Development & Operations organization and work alongside an Agile/SCRUM team building and improving real systems.
Summer 2026 | 11 weeks | 35 hours/week | $20/hour |Hybrid
Responsibilities
What you'll do
- Learn from experienced mentors and contribute as a collaborating member of an Agile/SCRUM team
- Rotate and gain hands-on exposure to multiple disciplines, such as:
- Application Development
- Technical Business Analysis
- QA Engineering
- Dev Ops Engineering
- User Experience Development
- Support work across modern tools/tech including AI, Angular, RESTful web services, .NET Core, SQL/No-SQL, automation, AWS, Docker, and more
- Participate in code reviews and learn best practices in design, development, architecture, and large-scale solution delivery
- Help build and manage CI/CD pipelines
- Design, build, and maintain automated tests
- Assist with testing and certification of MOTOR solutions; recommend quality improvements
- Help elicit requirements and translate user needs into functional business requirements
- Create technical artifacts documenting architecture, data flow, process flow, and software design
- Collaborate with stakeholders to concept, prototype, and help implement new solutions
What we're looking for
- Undergraduate (preferred) or Graduate student
- Junior or Senior undergrad preferred (graduate students welcome)
- Expected graduation: Summer 2027 (preferred)
- GPA: 3.0 or higher
- Preferred majors: Computer Science (or equivalent) and/or Data Science
- Required skills:
- Coding
- Python
- SQL
- Exploration in AI technologies
- Proficiency level: Intermediate
