The Sales Engineer III (SE3) is a senior, high-impact role reporting to the VP of Sales Engineering & Consulting. This position serves as a technical thought leader and strategic advisor for Visual Edge IT’s largest and most complex opportunities. You will architect integrated, multi-million-dollar solutions, guide deal strategy, and partner closely with executive stakeholders to position Visual Edge IT as a long-term technology partner.

This role is ideal for a seasoned solutions architect who thrives in complex enterprise environments, influences deal outcomes at the executive level, and mentors the next generation of sales engineers.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Own technical solution architecture for large, complex, and strategically significant opportunities, typically $500K+ in value.
  • Lead deep technical discovery to understand customer IT strategy, organizational structure, business objectives, and long-term roadmap.
  • Design integrated, end-to-end solutions across infrastructure, cloud, security, communications, automation, and managed services.
  • Develop custom solution frameworks that address business transformation, operational efficiency, scalability, and risk mitigation.
  • Deliver executive-level presentations that clearly articulate business value, technical feasibility, and competitive differentiation.
  • Lead proof-of-concept design, execution, and validation to build customer confidence and accelerate deal progression.
  • Serve as the primary technical advisor for C-suite, CIO, and senior IT leadership throughout the sales cycle.
  • Partner with Account Executives to shape deal strategy, competitive positioning, and go-to-market approach for enterprise opportunities.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks that could impact deal closure, delivery success, or customer satisfaction.
  • Support pricing strategy, proposal development, and contract structuring to ensure alignment between customer expectations and delivery capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Product, Delivery, and Operations teams to ensure solutions are scalable, repeatable, profitable, and supportable.
  • Mentor and coach SE I and SE II team members through hands-on guidance, deal support, and formal training sessions.
  • Contribute to field enablement by developing solution playbooks, best practices, and technical documentation.
  • Represent Visual Edge IT at customer forums, industry events, and conferences as a technical and thought leader.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings to continuously elevate solution quality and market positioning.
Knowledge, Skills, And Qualifications
  • 7–10+ years of experience in enterprise pre-sales engineering, solutions architecture, or IT consulting.
  • 3+ years of experience mentoring or leading technical professionals preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Demonstrated expertise architecting complex, integrated enterprise solutions across multiple technology domains.
  • Proven track record of directly influencing or closing $500K+ technology and managed services deals.
