HR Generalist role at Proctor Loan Protector
SummaryThe HR Generalist is responsible for the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs, covering employee development, HRIS, employee relations, benefits, employment processing, affirmative action, employee leaves, records management, and policy development and communication. They promote a high‑performance culture focused on empowerment, quality, productivity and goal attainment, serving both the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
Essential Duties and Functions- Recruiting and staffing, including advising senior management regarding hiring and termination decisions.
- Provide input on workforce plans, recruiting and staffing strategies to optimize talent acquisition and retention.
- Support employee performance evaluation process, performance improvement plans and career development process.
- Abide by and stay informed of applicable human‑resource federal and state requirements in day‑to‑day work, including conducting investigations and maintaining records.
- Employee orientation and performance development.
- Assist with the implementation of employee relations and human‑resources policies, programs and practices.
- Assist managers and employees as needed to understand changes.
- Coordinate benefits administration and enrollment.
- Support employee safety, welfare, wellness and health.
- Counsel managers in coaching and disciplining employees.
- Assist managers with employee relation issues and activities.
- Coordinate employee leaves.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Conduct disciplinary meetings/exit interviews.
- Pursue a course of personal and professional development.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Planning/organizing – prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently.
- Interpersonal skills – maintain confidentiality, remain open to others’ ideas and exhibit willingness to try new things.
- Oral communication – speak clearly and persuasively, demonstrate group presentation skills.
- Written communication – edit work for spelling and grammar, present numerical data effectively, read and interpret written information.
- Problem solving – identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully, maintain confidentiality.
- Quality control – demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, monitor own work to ensure quality.
- Adaptability – adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.
- Safety and security – observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent education/work experience.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
- Knowledgeable in employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to resolve conflict.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, ethics and integrity.
- Three years’ experience in a similar position.
- Responsible for personal ongoing development.
- Five or more years’ experience in Human Resources.
- HR Certification.
- Notary license.
- Manual dexterity, arm and upper‑body range of motion sufficient for use of keyboard, mouse and telephone 7–8 hours per day.
- Speech and hearing sufficient for in‑person and telephone communication 7–8 hours per day.
- Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor.
- Ability to sit at a desk 7–8 hours per day.
Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including skills, experience, work location and more. We offer competitive pay while still allowing for compensation growth within the position and company.
