We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join our client's team in Troy, Michigan. This role will involve overseeing various financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. As this is a contract position, we seek a dedicated individual with a strong background in accounting and financial management.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Manage payroll processes, including onboarding and offboarding employees.
- Handle reimbursements and expense management using Sage Expense Management.
- Process incoming bills, issue payments, and manage credit card transactions.
- Oversee accounts receivable by entering orders, generating invoices, and receiving payments.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely collections.
- Manage billing processes for development courses and other sales orders.
- Reconcile and maintain records of revenue from external systems, ensuring data accuracy.
- Collaborate with departments to process billing changes and manage school district tutoring purchase orders.
Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management.
- Proficiency in Sage software and ADP payroll systems.
- Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and general ledger management.
- Experience with financial statement audits and preparing financial reports.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with accounts payable and accounts receivable operations.
- Ability to generate and analyze aging reports for collections.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in handling multiple financial tasks.
