Our client has engaged us to assist them in hiring a contract Design Release Engineer

• Design and develop vehicle Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) wiring.
• Manage engineering changes, including cost and timing analysis, and serve as the internal and customer-facing point of contact during customer change control meetings.
• Act as the primary interface with the customer for design and development of signal and power systems.
• Provide onsite vehicle build support at engineering facilities, client vehicle plants, or remotely as required.
• Drive closure of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) issues and product development concerns.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, including warranty reduction and cost savings with the customer.
• Ensure compliance with Bill of Design (BOD) and Bill of Process (BOP) requirements.
• Integrate new engineering solutions and technologies that add value and create competitive advantages.
• Identify, mitigate, and escalated risks as needed to accomplish program objectives.
• Ensure adherence to customer-specific engineering and release requirements.

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Systems, Computer Engineering, Software, or related field).
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Design Release Engineer (DRE).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally (engineering, commercial, program management).
• Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.
• Preferred:
  • Electrical wiring/harness engineering experience
  • Experience with multiple vehicle launches
  • Knowledge of WERS
  • Automotive EDS design release experience
  • Teamcenter Vismockup and/or Zuken experience
