Overview
Sales Engineer / Key Account Manager – Automotive Electronics
Location:
Troy, Michigan (Onsite/Hybrid)
Salary Range: $90,000 – $150,000 + benefits
This role serves as the primary commercial and technical interface between the company and automotive OEM and Tier customers. The successful candidate will drive business development activities, manage RFQs and proposals, and support programs from initial customer engagement through production launch.
ResponsibilitiesServe as the main point of contact for assigned automotive customers, building strong relationships and supporting global account activities. Lead commercial discussions including pricing, tooling, development costs, and contract negotiations within approved guidelines. Manage RFQ processes by coordinating internally with engineering, product management, and operations teams to prepare competitive proposals. Conduct regular customer visits, participate in kickoff meetings and technical reviews, and support audits as required.
Support internal business activities including sales forecasting, maintaining pricing and program lifecycle data, monitoring market trends, and contributing to strategic account growth. Work cross-functionally with product management, logistics, and engineering teams to ensure successful program execution.
Clearly articulate technical capabilities and give technical demonstrations; partner with the sales team to generate leads; find and maintain prospective clients; provide general technical support to clients.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor Degree in Engineering + 5 years of post graduation experience OR 10+ years of specific experience in audio assemblies, or antenna assemblies including cable and harness.
- Experience in automotive technical sales, account management, or sales engineering supporting OEM or Tier 1 customers. Knowledge of automotive products such as wire harnesses, cable assemblies, antennas, or related electronic components. Strong understanding of automotive development processes, RFQ management, and commercial negotiations.
- Ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead customer meetings and deliver professional presentations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and strong English communication skills required.

- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Background in automotive electronics, audio systems, or connectivity solutions. Experience with global automotive customers and international business environments. Understanding of product cost structures, manufacturing processes, and program lifecycle milestones (SOP/EOP).
CompensationCompetitive base salary ranging from $90,000 to $150,000 depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits. This ideal candidate will partner with Account Executives to find, contact, and follow-up with prospective clients. Once they discover the client s needs, they will discuss our product s technological capabilities and business value with the client. The ideal candidate should be able to clearly articulate highly technical concepts to all prospective clients.
