Group Summary

The Magna Exteriors portfolio includes liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front‑end modules, and lightweight structural components for automotive and commercial truck markets.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide support and project‑based leadership to divisional management to facilitate improvement activities during plant underperformance, critical launches, and resource shortages.
  • Utilize improvement methods such as process, inventory, value stream mapping, lean thinking, facility design, performance measurement, benchmarking, financial analysis, and cost justification.
  • Conduct workshops with plant personnel, provide training, and manage change.
  • Define and manage multiple concurrent operational improvement initiatives and follow up activities.
  • Document and present logistics solutions to divisions and senior leadership.
  • Support global divisions during implementation and continuous improvement projects.
  • Schedule and perform annual assessments at all North American manufacturing plants and present results to senior plant management.
  • Coach manufacturing plants in the development of improvement plans for Magna Factory Concept (MAFACT) and World Class Manufacturing implementations.
  • Maintain MAFACT/World Class Manufacturing information and standards on the company intranet.
  • Continuously improve skills, knowledge of leading practices, and awareness of industry trends.
  • Represent the company professionally and with integrity and enthusiasm.
  • Develop customer relationships that support our ability to be successful.
  • Utilize effective communication with employees, managers, divisions, and customers.
  • Adhere to applicable quality systems, the Employee Charter, health, safety, environmental rules, and the Magna Code of Conduct.
Who We Are Looking For
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of related professional experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment and success driving medium‑to‑large scale capital projects.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, supply chain management, logistics, or related fields.
  • Physical Demands: Normal sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, and ability to travel locally, domestically, and internationally for short‑term assignments.

  • Knowledge of logistics KPIs, cost analysis, and labor standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Strategic thinker with Lean or Mafact perspective.
  • Results‑oriented and able to work under pressure.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, Visio, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong problem‑solving ability and initiative.
  • Frequent travel (>75%) within North America and occasional trips to Europe.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
