This is an opportunity to play a visible, high‑impact role within a growing Tier 1 supplier that has recently secured new business and is investing heavily in its North American operations.
What You Will Be DoingAs the Supplier Quality Engineer, you will serve as the primary quality liaison between the organization and its OEM customers across North America. You will take ownership of warranty quality, customer escalations, and systemic improvement initiatives—working closely with manufacturing teams in Mexico and engineering leadership at corporate headquarters.
This role provides a high degree of visibility and influence, giving you the opportunity to directly impact customer satisfaction, product reliability, and long‑term supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities Include- Serve as the main quality contact for OEM customers regarding warranty issues, quality concerns, and escalation management
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action activities using structured problem‑solving methodologies (8D, 5‑Why, Ishikawa, etc.)
- Own internal quality tracking systems and reporting related to customer complaints, warranty claims, and field failures
- Coordinate containment, corrective actions, and preventive measures with manufacturing sites in Mexico and engineering/quality leadership
- Prepare and present technical reports and corrective action responses to OEM customers
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, improve first‑pass yield, and strengthen overall product quality
- Participate in audits, customer visits, and launch readiness activities as needed
- Drive long‑term corrective actions that improve customer confidence and reduce warranty exposure
To be considered for this role, candidates must have the following experience and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
- 4+ years of experience in Quality Engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Experience working in a Tier 1 automotive supplier environment
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple issues simultaneously in a fast‑paced, customer‑facing role
The ideal candidate will also have any or all of the following preferred experience and skills:
- OEM experience supporting Ford, Stellantis, and/or General Motors
- Knowledge of automotive core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, etc.)
- Familiarity working with Korean manufacturing organizations and quality systems
- Experience collaborating across international teams and cultures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for customer‑facing technical reporting
