Sales Engineer - Automotive Parts Manufacturer

Overview

A global automotive parts manufacturing company is looking for a motivated Sales Engineer in their Troy, MI location.

The ideal candidate would have a couple of years’ experience in technical sales or the automotive industry, but entry-level candidates with electrical/mechanical/industrial engineering degrees are welcome to apply.

$70,000.00/yr - $/yr

• Establish relations with new and previous customers
• New business development with OEMs and Tier Suppliers
• Promote automotive bearings/hydraulics products and the company itself
• Intelligently communicate with clients
• Responsible for price/contract negotiations
• Travel to customer locations and prepare reports and compile data
• Make presentations to and attend meetings with client managers and engineers
• Understand specifications for products for customer design assistance
• Responsible for conducting marketing activities including market research, competitor analysis, and benchmarking
• Create data, budgets, and reports regarding sales and marketing activity
• Other duties as assigned by Management

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering is preferred
• Minimum 1 year of customer interaction or sales experience
• Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time in North America
• Must have excellent presentation skills
• Experience with working in a Japanese-related environment is a plus
• Some engineering knowledge or technical support or automotive industrial experience is required
• This position will not support visa sponsor ships
• This position includes manufacturing and office work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear.
  
  You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
