Troy University is seeking a dynamic and student-focused professional to join the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership. The Coordinator of Student Engagement and Leadership will play a key role in supporting and enhancing student engagement and leadership through the administration of campus organizations and leadership initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide training, advising, and workshops for student organization officers and advisors in collaboration with other coordinators.
- Support Enrollment Services by participating in recruitment events, including New Student Orientation, campus visitation days, and related programming.
- Serve as a co-advisor for the University Activities Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, and The 87 Student Leadership Honors Organization.
- Assist with major campus traditions and programs such as Homecoming and Greek Week.
- Promote student engagement and leadership through creative outreach and effective use of social media.
- Contribute to the overall goals and mission of the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership, taking on additional responsibilities based on qualifications and expertise.
This position offers the opportunity to directly impact the student experience at Troy University by fostering leadership, involvement, and community across campus.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of three years experience developing and implementing college student programs or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in student personnel or student services
- Demonstrated competence and commitment to diversity
- Available to work nights and weekends events when needed
- Master’s degree
- Minimum of one year of professional experience working with college groups to provide advising
- Program planning and leadership development experience with student organizations.
- Experience working with sororities and fraternities and knowledge of fraternity and sorority membership processes
- Knowledge of student development theory
- Strong writing skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task
- Experience with diverse populations
- Knowledge and skill with database management, spreadsheets, word processing, desktop publishing, web design, social media
Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties? Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility.
Work Hours:
Regular office hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday with frequent non‑standard work hours, to include many evenings and most weekends.
