Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting
Our Partner is a small but rapidly expanding organization seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee and manage the financial operations of the company. This role requires a hands‑on accounting professional who is comfortable operating in a growing environment and taking ownership of the full finance function. The role is in person only at our office in Troy, MI.
Responsibilities- Accurately record all financial transactions into Quickbooks
- Oversee all general ledger activity for 4+ businesses and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly and year-end financial statements
- Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management
- Maintain accurate, compliant, and audit‑ready financial records
- Coordinate with the company’s outside accounting firm on tax filings, audits, and financial reporting
- Collaborate with in‑house legal counsel and paralegal staff to support financial, tax, and regulatory compliance
- Support the development of scalable financial processes and internal controls as the organization grows
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in an accounting firm utilizing Quickbooks
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with a full understanding of financial statements and general ledger activity
- Hands‑on experience with journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and data management
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks
- Must know Quickbooks inside and out
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Self‑starter with a positive, solutions‑oriented mindset
- Salary starting at $100-115k based on experience
