Senior Accounting Manager

A great client at UHY is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager
. The ideal candidate will have multifamily residential real estate accounting experience, strong leadership experience, and the ability to operate as a self-starter in a hands‑on environment.

The Senior Accounting Manager role is a hybrid position (onsite Tuesday and Wednesday, remaining days remote). This is a client direct hire position.

• Oversee property accounting for a large multifamily residential portfolio
• Supervise and mentor three direct reports, including staff and senior accountants
• Manage day‑to‑day accounting functions currently handled by leadership
• Review property financial statements and ensure accuracy and completeness
• Oversee property‑level treasury functions including cash transfers, wires, and bank accounts
• Serve as a resource for staff, investors, and third‑party clients on property accounting matters
• Provide leadership, direction, and accountability within the accounting team
• Support process improvements and ensure alignment with company policies and reporting standards
• 7+ years of accounting experience with a strong focus on multifamily residential real estate accounting
• Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience; must be a current manager or supervisor
• Ability to step into a hands‑on leadership role with minimal training
• Strong understanding of property accounting and related treasury functions
• Highly motivated, accountable, and entrepreneurial mindset
• CPA license preferred but not required
• Public accounting experience in audit or tax preferred but not required
