Toolmaker

Seeking a motivated and skilled Tool Room professional with expertise in manual machining (turning, milling, grinding) and CNC (Fanuc/MDI). Role requires 5+ years of fixture/tooling design, build, and repair experience, ability to read blueprints with GD&T, and proficiency in precision inspection.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Fabricate, repair, and improve tools, fixtures, gauges, and dies to required tolerances.
• Machine precision parts using manual and CNC equipment; write/edit CNC programs when needed.
• Read engineering drawings/sketches and apply machining and assembly methods.
• Inspect and verify work with precision measuring tools.
• Perform fixture/die assembly, fitting, and reverse engineering.
• Maintain tooling, CNC programs, and documentation.
• Support design reviews with input for manufacturability and durability.
• Manage multiple projects, ensuring quality and deadlines.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and support lean/5S initiatives.
• Train and mentor junior machinists.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong manual and CNC machining skills, including programming and offsets.
• Proficient in blueprint reading and GD&T.
• Skilled with precision inspection tools.
• Experience in fixture/die design, build, and maintenance.
• Problem-solving, documentation, and teamwork skills.
• Preferred: CAD/CAM, ERP, lean manufacturing, reverse engineering experience.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma/GED required; technical degree preferred.
• 5+ years in Tool Room, manual and CNC machining.
