The Work- Set up and operate automatic riveting machines to punch, dimple, drill, and rivet or fasten all types and sizes of helicopter sub-assemblies.
- Plan and perform sequences of operations necessary to setup and operate any type of automatic riveting or dimpling machines.
- Follow general instructions, standard procedures and practices to plan and perform diversified, difficult, and new operations as required to utilize automatic fastening equipment, and to determine necessary operations to correct and rework faulty fasteners.
- Adjust or change tooling for material thickness, hole, fastener and/or rivet size, operating pressure, types and amount of fasteners, etc.
- Prepare work for fastener machines using jigs, guides, patterns, etc., or by fastening details together with clecos.
- Use support tables to level sub-assemblies and facilitate work, and operate equipment to complete punching, dimpling, drilling, fastening, and/or riveting cycle.
- Insure proper operation of machine, watch for defective hole size or rivets, dull or bent drills, punches, and/or sub-assemblies.

Basic Qualifications- Requires knowledge of riveting and the ability to read fastener sizes and numbers from work orders, interpret drawings and specifications, and to use a variety of tools, templates, gages, etc.
- Working knowledge of aircraft structures and assembly techniques, including a thorough knowledge of automatic fastening machines.
- Require certification for operating dimpling machine.
- Must maintain current certification as required
- One year of professional career experience

The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. - Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
