Overview

Troy Bank and Trust is excited to announce a Fraud Operations Specialist position in the Troy office. We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Fraud Operations Specialist to join our Operations team. The first few months will require the successful candidate to work at our Main Office and will transition to our Troy Downtown branch before year end. This role is responsible for reviewing and analyzing customer account activity using fraud prevention tools to detect and prevent financial loss.

The Fraud Operations Specialist will investigate forgery, theft, and suspicious transactions, process Reg E chargebacks and disputes, and assist customers with debit card inquiries related to provisional credit. A foundational understanding of risk and compliance is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze suspicious activity to determine potential money laundering, fraudulent activity or other irregular financial activity.
  • Investigate fraud cases and Anti Money Laundering alerts using research and analytical tools within regulatory time limits.
  • Support front‑line staff with Reg E disputes, check fraud, wire fraud, and ACH fraud.
  • Respond to internal emails regarding potential fraud and take appropriate action.
  • Assist other areas within Deposit Operations as needed.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure excellent customer service.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of financial institution experience preferred.
  • High school diploma. Post secondary education a plus.
  • Banking, audit, or fraud detection experience a plus.
  • Call center or telephone customer service experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Windows 10, Outlook, Word, and Excel; ability to learn and use a variety of software applications necessary for the position.
  • Acute attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing priorities.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and department records.
  • Perform repetitive tasks and sit for extended periods.
  • Stay informed on all bank products and services.
Other Requirements
  • Must work in person/office.
  • Ability to travel between all locations to accommodate staffing needs as required to include temporary or permanent assignment.
Work Hours
  • Full‑time, 40 hours/week.
  • Standard hours: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday.
