Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical bias)

We are looking to introduce cutting‑edge technology into our existing factory and build a new world‑class regenerative food manufacturing facility to enhance our operations. We need a qualified engineer with an electrical bias to join our team of 24 engineers during this exciting period of change and growth.

This is a permanent night‑shift role, working Sunday to Thursday or Monday to Friday nights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all site assets are maintained to a high standard, meet requirements and are always available.
  • Maintain optimum performance of manufacturing plants and equipment at best value cost and effective use of resources.
  • Execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities to agreed standards, ensuring safe working at all times.
  • Positively affect plant reliability through practical intervention on improvement activities, maintenance procedures and plant stoppages.
  • Apply a robust and clearly communicated safe system of work for all activities, properly risk‑assessed.
  • Deliver on relevant Engineering Key Performance Indicators.
  • Contribute to the development of existing and new standards for key items of equipment and facilities.
  • Ensure engineering stock control on all parts used – booked out and accounted for correctly within required systems.
  • Coach, train and teach production colleagues to achieve continual improvements in equipment knowledge/performance.
  • Act with integrity, building a culture of professional engineering and proactive equipment‑focused continuous improvement skills.
  • Learn about the installation, set‑up and maintenance of new equipment to optimise performance and share learnings with the wider Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and take a proactive role in continuing improvements in Engineering safety standards.
  • Carry out complex fault finding and robust counter‑measure implementation.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement ideas to improve operational performance and sustainability.
  • Act as an agent for change, being prepared to attend training and learning opportunities on new technology and innovation in the food manufacturing industry.
  • Maintain a high level of efficiency through excellent communication with colleagues in Engineering and Manufacturing.
  • Ensure all food safety standards are met within Engineering operations.
  • Show flexibility in working hours when required.
  • Lead by example.
Essential
  • Recognised Electrical Maintenance Engineering experience and qualification at NVQ Level 3 or above.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety Regulations, RA, LOTOTO, PUWER.
  • Recognised experience in Mechanical & Electrical fault finding with and without drawings.
  • Working knowledge of PLC, HMI systems and servo drives.
  • Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings.
  • Basic Health & Safety qualifications and/or equivalent experience (IOSH).
  • Attention to detail, CMMS systems experience.
  • Collaborative team‑working approach – GMP, Inventory management.
  • Strong improvement reporting and communication skills.

  • Previous food manufacturing experience.
