Assistant Management Accountant

We are seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join a well-established, family-run business near Trowbridge, which has been operating for over 50 years. As the company continues to grow, this role offers the chance to work closely with the Finance Manager, taking ownership of key management accounting tasks and contributing directly to the financial reporting and control processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with management accounting experience to develop their skills within a hands-on and supportive finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Finance Manager with P&L and balance sheet reconciliations to the trial balance
• Supporting month-end processes and investigating discrepancies in accounts
• Managing cost centre allocations and monthly journals
• Assisting with annual audit preparations
• Performing bank reconciliations for multiple accounts
• Supporting the workflow of the finance department
• Providing ad-hoc support to the team during busy periods or absence

Supporting Duties:

• Assisting the Finance Manager with ad-hoc reporting as required

Skills & Attributes:

• Methodical with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent numeracy and literacy
• Strong IT skills, particularly Excel, including logical formulas
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Flexible, team-oriented, and a proactive ‘can do’ attitude
