Position: RN for Long Term Care Facility

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to residents in a long-term care facility. The RN oversees daily clinical operations, assesses resident conditions, implements care plans, and supervises nursing staff including LPNs and CNAs. This role plays a critical part in promoting resident well-being, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting a compassionate care environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive resident assessments and respond to changes in health status.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor for side effects or adverse reactions.
  • Supervise and delegate duties to LPNs, CNAs, and other staff, ensuring high standards of care.
  • Communicate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding resident care.
  • Document care accurately and in a timely manner in compliance with state, federal, and facility policies.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and medical crises, following proper protocols.
  • Participate in quality assurance initiatives, audits, and regulatory surveys.
  • Educate residents and families on care plans, health conditions, and treatments.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Serve as a role model for professionalism, accountability, and compassionate care.
Qualifications
  • Active RN license in the state of employment.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN).
  • Current CPR/BLS certification (required).
  • At least 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in long‑term care or geriatric settings.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR/EHR).
