This position assists with coverage hours necessary to keep the Colorado Welcome Center open per State requirements and is responsible for conducting general operations in the absence of the Welcome Center Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following statements are illustrative of the essential functions of the job and do not include other nonessential or peripheral duties that may be required. - Greets and welcomes visitors to the tour. Provides information about the history of Trinidad and directs customers to restaurants or services that might be of interest to them.
- Applicant must be proficient in the driving of twenty-passenger vehicles, exercising proper care in maneuvering in traffic.
- Applicant must be at least twenty-one.
- Applicant must possess or be able to obtain a Commercial Drivers’ License with Class S or P endorsement with air brakes from the State of Colorado at their own expense.
- Applicant must be able to establish and maintain a good working relationship with the general public.
- Observes and follows established City policies and procedures in the daily conduct of the job.
Knowledge of:
- Local attractions, events and tourism services available.
- Governmental structures, operations, policies and procedures.
Skilled in:
- Solving practical problems and dealing with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Generating creative ideas and continuously look for ways to improve.
Ability to:
- Listen to, read, understand and communicate the English language so that others are able to understand. This must be done both orally and in writing, at the level appropriate for the position held.
- Ability to exercise a high degree of sound, independent judgment.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, volunteers, City officials, media, and the general public.
- Ability to reliably and predictably carry out duties.

Exercised:
May provide assistance to volunteers.
- High School diploma or GED
- Must possess a valid current state-issued driver’s license and not be under suspension, revocation or denial nor have any prior alcohol and/or drug related driving offenses within the last five years. A driving record search will be conducted on all applicants prior to employment and will be subject to observation throughout their employment.
- Successful candidates must pass a background investigation and physical examination in accordance with job duties prior to employment.
- Applicants will be required to undergo drug testing prior to employment and may be subject to further drug and alcohol testing throughout their employment as per City policy.
- CPR and First Aid training required.
