About the RoleSpecial agents carry out investigations and protective duties, often at multiple locations across the U.S. and abroad.
Responsibilities include:
- U.S. citizenship
- Valid driver's license
- Firearm proficiency and possession
- Age between 21 and 37 (with exceptions for prior federal service or veteran’s preference)
- Top Secret security clearance
- Visual acuity of 20/100 uncorrected, 20/20 corrected
- Hearing within specified limits
- Drug testing and ongoing random testing
- Completion of 13 weeks FLETC training and 18 weeks at James J. Rowley Training Center
- Willingness to accept assignments nationwide and abroad
- Registration with the Selective Service System (if applicable)
