Retail Shortage Control - Part Time

Join our team as a Shortage Control Associate and contribute to a secure shopping environment while delivering exceptional customer service!

As a Shortage Control Associate (SCA), your role directly impacts the store's security and the overall shopping experience. By exhibiting command presence, knowledge of theft trends, and a positive impression of control, you will help mitigate theft and create a safe, enjoyable shopping environment.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a professional appearance and presence at the front of the store.
  • Greet every customer entering or exiting with a warm smile and friendly greeting.
  • Monitor store entrance throughout each shift, focusing on reducing opportunities for theft.
  • Build trust and respect among customers and associates through confidence and positive attitude.
  • Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty.
Knowledge & Communication
  • Master top shortage areas and support programs that reduce theft.
  • Communicate theft‑prevention information during store rallies.
  • Conduct bag and package checks on associates to ensure safety and security compliance.
  • Understand your role in protecting store assets.
Support & Guidance
  • Provide training support on shortage‑reduction programs and processes.
  • Model safety practices and address unsafe behavior promptly.
Experience & Qualifications
  • 1+ year experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, asset protection, loss prevention, or operations.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and visually monitor the store environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Analytical skills to review and interpret business trends.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills that foster productive relationships.
  • High‑pressure, fast‑paced work tolerance with a disciplined decision‑making approach.
