Job Description: Under the direction of an Engineer-in-Charge of Maintenance, a Business Manager, or other supervisory official in a State department, institution, or agency, has charge of the power and heating plant where capacity of the equipment involved is not less than 1000 and does not exceed 3000 boiler horsepower, and/or which may include major air conditioning units; supervises staff and work activities;

prepares and signs official performance evaluations for subordinate staff; does other related duties as required.

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of experience in work involving the operation, maintenance, and emergency repair of power and heating plants and auxiliary equipment, one (1) year of which shall have been in a lead worker capacity.

LICENSE: Appointees will be required to possess a minimum of a Stationary Engineer Second Class, Grade 1B (Red) License issued by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

Appointees will be required to possess a driver`s license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
