Fixed Asset Accounting Systems Lead
Our client is seeking a Fixed Asset Accounting Systems Lead to serve as the bridge between Plant Accounting and Information Technology, driving the implementation, enhancement, and ongoing support of fixed asset systems. This role is highly hands‑on and plays a critical part in ensuring data integrity, compliance, and operational efficiency across Power Plan and its integrations with upstream systems. This is an ideal opportunity for a technically strong accounting systems professional who enjoys leading projects, improving processes, and working closely with IT and business partners.
Key Responsibilities Systems & Project Leadership- Lead and support Power Plan implementations, upgrades, enhancements, integrations, and ongoing maintenance
- Maintain and troubleshoot integrations between Power Plan and upstream systems such as Maximo
- Serve as the key business partner to IT, external vendors, and the internal project management office
- Act as the primary subject matter expert for fixed asset systems, providing first‑line support and guidance
- Design, create, execute, and maintain UAT test scripts and use cases
- Participate hands‑on in testing, cutover, and deployment of upgrades and enhancements
- Create and maintain detailed desktop procedures and process documentation
- Translate accounting and plant business requirements into clear, actionable technical requirements
- Evaluate the impact of enterprise system changes on fixed asset accounting
- Ensure no business requirements are lost in translation during IT system implementations
- Provide day‑to‑day guidance and leadership to team members
- Champion continuous improvement, change management, and special projects
- Maintain and update relevant policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively with finance, operations, and executive leadership
- Use SQL, Excel, and BI tools to analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and support reporting
- Support system audits, reconciliations, and compliance needs
- Strong technical and analytical capabilities
- Extensive experience with system implementations, upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including macros and VBA
- Advanced data analytics capabilities
- Ability to work at both a strategic leadership level and a detailed, hands‑on level
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of regulated utilities operations and accounting
- Experience with Microsoft BI dashboards
- Experience working with SQL
- Power Plan (Fixed Asset System)
- Maximo (Work Management System)
- Workday (ERP)
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience
Determining compensation for this role depends upon a wide array of factors including skill sets, experience, training, licensure and certifications, office location, and other business‐and‐organizational needs. Salary range for the role is noted in this posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
