HR Manager, Employee Relations
Compensation: Base salary up to $130,000 (DOE) + comprehensive benefits
Work Type: Full-time, Monday–Friday, onsite
About the RoleOur client is seeking a hands-on HR Manager to own day-to-day HR operations while serving as a trusted partner to leadership and employees. You will lead core HR programs—employee relations, compliance, performance, benefits, and payroll coordination—while driving process improvements and a positive, inclusive culture.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now is required.
- HR Operations & Employee Relations: Serve as the primary HR contact for a ~[insert headcount] onsite workforce; provide guidance on policy interpretation, coaching, conflict resolution, investigations, and corrective action with fairness and consistency.
- Payroll & HRIS (ADP Workforce Now): Partner with Payroll/Finance to ensure accurate, timely payroll; maintain employee data integrity, workflows, and reporting in ADP Workforce Now
; troubleshoot issues and optimize configurations. - Compliance (Federal & NJ): Maintain compliance with federal and New Jersey employment laws (e.g., FLSA, FMLA,
NJLAD
, NJFLA
, NJ SAFE Act
, CEPA
, paid sick leave); update handbook and policies; manage I‑9, E-Verify, recordkeeping, posters, and audit readiness. - Benefits & Leaves: Administer benefits (enrollment, life events, open enrollment, vendor liaison); manage leaves of absence, ADA/interactive process, and return‑to‑work.
- Talent & Performance: Support workforce planning, job architecture, and recruiting coordination; drive onboarding/offboarding; lead performance enablement cycles, goal setting, and manager coaching.
- Learning & Culture: Deliver bite-sized training for managers (HR fundamentals, feedback, ER basics); champion recognition, engagement, and inclusion initiatives.
- Data & Reporting: Use HR analytics to track headcount, attrition, time‑to‑fill, engagement signals, and ER trends; present insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Health & Safety (as applicable): Partner with site leaders on safety compliance, incident response, and workers’ compensation.
- 5–8+ years of progressive HR experience, including HR Generalist/HR Manager responsibilities in an onsite environment.
- Required:
ADP Workforce Now (administration, reporting, and workflow experience). - Strong working knowledge of NJ and federal employment law; confident navigating investigations, documentation, and compliance.
- Proficiency with HR reporting/analytics; solid Excel/Sheets skills.
- Exceptional judgment, discretion, and relationship building; clear, empathetic communicator.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field;
SHRM‑CP/PHR (or higher) preferred.
