Ayers Health and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a motivated, organized, and relationship-driven Admissions Director to lead our admissions process and serve as a key liaison between the facility, residents, families, and referral partners. This is a full-time leadership role ideal for an admissions professional with skilled nursing or long-term care experience who understands census development, payer sources, and the importance of exceptional customer service during the admission process.
The Admissions Director oversees the full admissions lifecycle, including inquiry management, tours, bed management, pre-admission coordination, and collaboration with internal departments and external referral sources. This role plays a critical part in maintaining census, supporting resident satisfaction, and ensuring regulatory-compliant admissions practices.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the admissions process from initial inquiry through admission
- Serve as the primary point of contact for residents, families, hospitals, and referral partners
- Conduct facility tours and represent the community in a professional, welcoming manner
- Coordinate pre-admission assessments, benefit verification, and payer source review (Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, private pay)
- Maintain accurate bed availability and census tracking
- Collaborate with Nursing, Social Services, Business Office, and Therapy teams to ensure smooth admissions and transitions
- Oversee and support admissions documentation, signatures, and regulatory compliance
- Address resident and family concerns promptly and professionally
- Support discharge planning and continuity of care as needed
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and survey readiness activities
- Maintain strong community and referral relationships to support census growth
- High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred - Previous admissions experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting required
- Strong working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and private insurance processes
- Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Professional, compassionate demeanor with residents, families, and referral partners
- Proficiency with computer systems and office software; EMR experience preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Must meet all local health requirements and pass required background and drug screenings
- Full-Time | Monday–Friday
