The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).

Pay Range
: $24.50 - $35.60

Position Overview

Performs group psychotherapy using music therapy techniques to facilitate non-verbal and verbal communication. Performs therapy and comprehensive clinical assessments using development of individualized treatment plans for maintaining and promoting stabilization in the adult and geriatric psychiatric population.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Master s degree in music therapy or mental health related field.
Experience: One year previous healthcare experience.

Other Credentials

AHA BLS. Non-Licensed must obtain before end of orientation period

Knowledge and Skills

Uses music to improve patients  emotional-well being and problem-solving skills. Assists patients with developmental and learning disabilities, and age-related conditions.

Special Training

Proficient with playing guitar, piano, drums, autoharp and Orff instruments. Excellent singing abilities. Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities:
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Performs group psychotherapy using music therapy techniques to facilitate non-verbal and verbal communication. Conducts music therapy and psycho-educational groups. Maintains competency and certification in music therapy. Maintains psychiatric knowledge base. Orders and maintains group supplies within budget parameters. Makes recommendations regarding annual budget needs. Performs therapy and comprehensive clinical assessments using development of individualized treatment plans for maintaining and promoting stabilization in the adult and geriatric psychiatric population.

Completes allied clinical therapy assessment on admitted patients. Participates in the formation of individual treatment plans in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team. Documents accurately and maintains records of all services rendered. Evaluates the family system and provides education, crisis intervention, and support. Communicates, interacts, and plans with representatives of other departments and community agencies to coordinate discharge planning and to provide appropriate after-care services.

Participates in unit-based activities and continuing education activities. Participates in performance improvement activities. Participates in staff meetings, case conferences, and agency-sponsored educational sessions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Frequent physical demands include:
Standing, Walking, Carry objects, Twisting, Bending, Reaching forward, Reaching overhead, Wrist position deviation. Occasional physical demands include:
Sitting, Climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders), Push/Pull, Squat/kneel/crawl, Pinching/fine motor activities, Keyboard use/repetitive motion, Taste or Smell. Continuous physical demands include:
Talk or Hear. Lifting Floor to Waist 15 lbs. Lifting Waist Level and Above 10 lbs. Sensory Requirements include:
Accurate Near Vision, Accurate Far Vision, Color Discrimination, Minimal Depth Perception, Accurate Hearing. Anticipated Occupational Exposure Risks Include the following:
Bloodborne Pathogens, Dust/Particulate Matter.
