Construction Project Manager
IEW Construction Group, Inc. is a New Jersey-based general contractor that specializes in heavy highway and bridge construction, including pile foundations, concrete, sitework, excavation, emergency maintenance, and marine construction. The Project Manager provides overall management of detailed and complex construction projects, accountable for all aspects of a project's success from preconstruction planning and procurement to final completion.
The role also offers direct support to other functional project teams in planning and execution, resolving issues, managing resources, project coordination, and interfacing with client representatives regarding progress.
- Set up project timely. Review specifications including contracts and drawings to determine construction requirements and plan procedures.
- Manage overall project performance (scope, safety, quality, schedule, innovation, cost, and customer satisfaction), coordinating site‑specific project management or coaching during the initiation and planning phases.
- Serve as single‑point of contact, establishing, maintaining, and managing customer expectations regarding project performance.
- Report project status and performance data as required to executive management.
- Ensure compliance with IEW's in‑house Project Management and Safety Standards.
- Plan, execute, monitor, control and continually work toward successful project completion.
- Manage onsite vendors and subcontractors to ensure performance remains within scope.
- Maintain and complete accurate and consistent submittal logs.
- Provide updates, schedules, and reports as requested.
- Coordinate and oversee that all team members have received proper safety training and equipment.
- BS degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 7–10 years of construction project management experience.
- Thorough understanding of construction industry practices, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Planning/Organizing:
Prioritizes and plans individual work activities, uses time efficiently, and leads meetings as necessary. - Quality:
Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality. - Adaptability:
Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, and handles frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
The ideal candidate would need to be centrally located with access to our North, South, and Central New Jersey contracts.
This position is not eligible for relocation compensation.
