We are a rural mixed-animal practice located in Northern Michigan is seeking a dedicated Associate Veterinarian. Our growing practice strives to provide exceptional care to both small and large animals. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with diverse species and performing a variety of medical and surgical tasks.
Responsibilities- Provide medical care for small animals (dogs, cats, and occasionally pocket pets if comfortable).
- Perform routine small animal surgeries (spay/neuter, soft tissue) and optional orthopedic surgeries if skilled.
- Deliver comprehensive veterinary services to large animals, primarily equine, but also including cattle, sheep, goats, and swine. Duties include routine medical care, reproductive services, and occasional surgical procedures.
- Utilize in-house diagnostics, including digital X-ray, IDEXX lab equipment, ultrasonography, and cold laser therapy, to deliver high‑quality care.
- Employ digital large animal X‑ray and reproductive ultrasonography for large animal cases.
- Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule for established clientele, with shared responsibilities among the team.
- 4‑day work week with 1 Saturday half day (rotating every 5 weeks ).
- Rotating on‑call responsibilities ( among 5 associates), including 1 evening per week and alternating weekends/holidays.
- Collaborative environment with 4 other veterinarians.
- Support for new graduates, including training and mentorship.
- On‑call accompaniment by experienced veterinary technicians.

Qualifications- Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent degree
- Comfortable with surgical and medical skills for small and large animals
- The right candidate would be willing to cover on call for established clients in a shared rotation among 5 associates.
