Description: HR Generalist (Payroll & Benefits Focus)
We are looking for a dedicated and analytical HR Specialist to lead our payroll operations and benefits administration. This role is the backbone of our compensation department, ensuring every employee is paid accurately and on time while acting as the go-to expert for health and wellness plans. Beyond the numbers, you will play a key role in the employee lifecycle by supporting recruitment efforts and assisting with internal culture initiatives.
Responsibilities- Payroll & Compliance
Execute full-cycle, bi-weekly payroll processing, including the calculation of bonuses, overtime, and specialized deductions. - Manage and audit payroll records to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Handle complex deductions such as garnishments, tax levies, and court-ordered with holdings in accordance with state and federal laws.
- Benefits Management
Oversee the administration of comprehensive benefit packages (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, 401k, FSA/HSA). - Lead the annual open enrollment process, from employee education and meetings to system configuration and carrier reporting.
- Act as a dedicated advocate for employees, resolving claims disputes and billing discrepancies with insurance providers.
- Manage the enrollment lifecycle, including new hire onboarding and termination processing.
- People Operations Support
Provide surge support for talent acquisition and recruiting activities. - Address routine employee inquiries regarding company policies and procedures.
- Assist with performance management cycles, recognition programs, and internal events.
- Meticulous:

You are proactive in researching solutions and can troubleshoot payroll or benefit issues independently. - Discreet:
You understand the weight of handling sensitive data and maintain absolute confidentiality. - Adaptable:
You can pivot between technical payroll tasks and interpersonal employee relations with ease.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience). - Experience:
3–5 years of direct experience in payroll processing and benefits administration. - Technical
Skills:
High proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, Workday) and HRIS platforms. - Knowledge:
Strong grasp of federal/state wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and ERISA/COBRA compliance. - Skills:
Advanced mathematical skills and the ability to meet rigid deadlines consistently.
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
- Previous exposure to recruitment or employee relations.
