A Day in the Life
As a CT Technologist at Munson Healthcare, you’ll be part of a highly skilled imaging team that plays a critical role in diagnosing and treating patients across northern Michigan. Working under the delegated authority of a supervising physician, you’ll use advanced CT technology to deliver clear, accurate, and clinically relevant imaging—helping providers make the best decisions for their patients.

- Perform a wide variety of CT exams and CT vascular procedures
, producing high-quality, diagnostic images. - Influence patient care across all age groups
, from neonatal to geriatric. - Work in a supportive, collaborative environment that values professionalism, teamwork, and compassion.
- Partner with physicians, nurses, and fellow technologists to support a smooth, patient-focused workflow.
- Apply your strong knowledge of anatomy, CT protocols, scanner functions, and radiation safety—including ALARA and Image Gently for pediatric patients.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient exam room environment to ensure safe and smooth operations.
- Use critical thinking in fast-paced, emergent situations where quick decisions matter.

What’s Required
- Successful completion of an ARRT exam in Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy
- ARRT registration with all CE requirements up to date
- 1+ year of CT experience (2+ years preferred)
- Demonstrated competency with Munson Healthcare CT protocols
- Current BLS certification (biannual renewal required)
- Ability to start IVs, follow contrast media policies, and respond appropriately to contrast allergies or reactions
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with patients under physical or emotional stress
Physical & Work Environment Highlights
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and positioning patients
- Ability to use assistive devices to safely transfer patients up to 400 lbs
- Lifting and carrying equipment up to 50 lbs
- Fast-paced clinical environment with frequent interruptions and variable workload
- Exposure to radiation, chemicals, and emergent medical situations, supported by strong safety protocols
- Requires clear, effective communication with a diverse patient population and multidisciplinary teams
