Job Description
$10,000 SIGN ON BONUS
A Day in the LifeFunctions as an integral part of the Interventional radiology team by caring for patients undergoing image-guided procedures. The Interventional Technologist (IR Tech) will be responsible for performing radiological and technical skills using the C-arm and other fluoroscopy equipment to demonstrate portions of the human anatomy on the fluoroscopic screen for diagnostic and interventional purposes. The IR Tech will also provide assistance to physicians, registered nurses and other professionals.
The IR Tech must be able to take call on weeknights, weekends, and holidays on a rotational team and be at the hospital within 30 minutes.
- Provide Comprehensive Imaging Support:
Work in multiple areas—including the Pain Clinic, Multi-Purpose Room, Neuro IR, IR, and OR Vascular Suite—performing imaging procedures, assisting providers with sterile techniques, positioning patients, and operating C-arms and radiographic equipment. - Ensure Patient Care & Safety:
Deliver safe, courteous, and high-quality patient care from arrival to discharge; follow all safety protocols, infection control standards, and emergency response procedures while protecting patient privacy and confidentiality. - Operate and Maintain Equipment:
Select proper technical factors, handle imaging equipment responsibly, maintain sterile and contamination-free environments, prepare exam rooms, report equipment issues, and assist with daily C-arm operations. - Manage Workflow & Department Coordination:
Coordinate procedures with other departments and physician schedules, maintain room stock and supplies, manage image review and PACS transfers, and perform clerical tasks as needed. - Uphold Professional Standards:
Adhere to hospital and Radiology Department dress policies, maintain organized work spaces, follow hospital policies and procedures, and perform additional duties as assigned.
What’s Required
- Must be eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) upon hire and pass within 30 days of hire.
- At least 2 years’ previous experience as a Staff Technologist is preferred.
- Previous experience in any Radiology subspecialty desirable, such as Special Procedures, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, MRI, CT, or Ultrasound.
- Working knowledge of operating a C-arm.
- Maintains BLS certification with annual renewal.
Day shift, Monday-Friday, weekend call rotation
