Shop Technician- Traverse

Overview

As a Shop Technician, you are responsible for tuning and mounting ski and snowboard bindings, interacting with customers, and ensuring each guest receives top‑quality customer service from entering the shop to checkout.

Boyne Resorts is a collection of mountain and lakeside resorts, ski areas, and attractions spanning from British Columbia to Maine. The company owns and operates twelve properties and an outdoor lifestyle equipment/apparel retail division with stores in cities throughout Michigan. Operations include snow sports, year‑round mountain recreation, golf, an indoor waterpark, spas, food & beverage, lodging, and real‑estate development.

• Greeting customers as they enter the shop and providing information on equipment and supplies.
• Assisting customers with equipment and fitting hardware, ensuring they are aware of use and care.
• Supporting customers in selecting appropriate items and ensuring proper adjustment.
• Educating customers about safety precautions required during skiing and snowboarding activities.
• Tuning, repairing, and storing equipment according to vendor or manufacturer instructions.
• Confirming functionality of each item communicated to the customer and answering additional queries.
• Responding to customers positively, especially when they report problems or issues, and attempting to resolve immediately.
• Completing required documentation for each rental and sale, ensuring receipts and change are correct.
• Overseeing repair, cleaning, and maintenance of rented/new/used equipment both in a preventative and regular capacity.
• Ensuring the service shop operates properly and communicating any maintenance needs to the supervisor.

• You are at least 18 years old.
• You have achieved a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• You are available to work weekends and holidays.
• You have 2 years of ski/snowboard tuning and binding mounting/adjusting experience.
• You are interested in a customer service based position that involves customer interaction.
