Device Physics Research Vector explores novel data storage technology and creates proof‑of‑concept (PoC) for the fast‑growing data sphere and further explores device innovations at micro/nano scale that leverage Seagate core competencies.
About the role - you willAs an Electrical & Electronics Engineer, you will develop and validate the electronic circuits and embedded systems for advanced technology projects. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that enable next‑generation data storage technologies.
This role involves ownership of the full product development cycle — from concept and schematic design to prototyping, testing, and integration. The ideal candidate should have a good fundamental knowledge of electrical & electronics engineering principles, hands‑on experience with circuit design, and a passion for solving complex technical challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in research projects and design and develop analog and digital circuits.
- Create and review schematics and PCB layouts using industry‑standard tools.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams of engineers and scientists to translate conceptual ideas into robust, testable designs.
- Perform hardware testing, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure design integrity.
- Document methodologies, assumptions, and results in technical reports and presentations.
- Contribute to the full product development cycle—from ideation and design to prototyping and testing.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- Support external collaborations with startups, academic institutions, and industry partners.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Strong foundation in analog and digital circuit design principles.
- Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools.
- Hands‑on experience with lab equipment for circuit testing and validation (oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc.).
- Familiarity with microcontrollers and embedded systems is a plus.
- Excellent problem‑solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, multi‑project environment.
- Bachelor in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or any relevant fields.
- Works collaboratively with the engineering team to design, develop, and test electrical systems and components.
- Contributes throughout the product development cycle from concept and design to prototyping, testing, and deployment.
- Supports hardware design, validation, and debugging activities.
- Use schematic capture and PCB layout tools to create and review designs.
- Participates in design reviews and provides constructive feedback.
- Integrates electronics, software, and firmware components.
- Keeps up with emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Demonstrates strong work ethics and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
