Norte Race Team Liaison; Seasonal, Part-Time Position

Overview

The Norte Youth Cycling Race Team is an inclusive, welcoming opportunity for riders of all abilities, in grades 4th - 12th to enjoy the friendships, community, and skills gained through shared experiences.

The Race Team Liaison will deliver race team rider support through scheduled rides, educational clinics, race pre-rides when applicable, and actual race day support. The focus is intended to be on the racer and the team, and not the final results of the race.

The Race Team liaison role was created to ensure the mission and impact of Norte Youth Cycling carries forward in a consistent and impactful manner, with a focus on our seasonal race team. The race team liaison will serve as an employee and representative of Norte Youth Cycling.

This position will communicate closely with Norte Core Staff to ensure preparations and plans are in alignment with Norte Youth Cycling schedules and organizational goals.

• Welcome, engage, and empower all race team members, regardless of ability or previous riding experience.
• Ensure all practices, pre-rides, and race opportunities are clearly identified and communicated to participants and parents.
• Develop and strengthen relationships within the team, with parents, guardians, and within the community at the Trailheads and the races.
• Ensure that safety is paramount.
• Ensure all riders, parents, guardians have completed the required Race Team waivers and releases. Norte Staff will provide the necessary documents.
• Communicate riders  needs, incidents and injuries as necessary.
• Incidents and injuries are documented using an established Norte Google Form.
• Represent Norte Youth Cycling in a positive, professional manner. This role may include other duties as assigned.
• Norte reserves the right to modify the position and/or the duties and responsibilities, as needed, to meet organizational and unique programmatic needs.
