Are you a compassionate leader who believes every young person deserves a safe place to heal and grow? Freedom Quest Youth Services is seeking an exceptional Residence Manager to lead our residential programs serving youth who need us most.

You’ll oversee one of our specialized residential homes—Freedom House—where young people facing complex challenges find safety, stability, and hope. As Residence Manager, you’ll build and lead trauma-informed teams that create healing environments for youth from unstable backgrounds who may have experienced neglect, abuse, or other significant adversities.

Your Role at a Glance

As Residence Manager, you’ll wear many hats—each one critical to creating environments where youth and staff thrive:

Team Leadership
  • Hire, train, and support residential coordinators and youth workers
  • Provide meaningful supervision that develops staff capabilities
  • Facilitate team building and create a positive workplace culture
  • Ensure staff have the resources and support they need to succeed
Youth-Centered Administration
  • Co‑develop individualized service plans with clinical counselors and youth
  • Coordinate care circles for integrated, holistic support
  • Lead transition planning to set youth up for long‑term success
  • Connect youth with specialized services (counseling, therapy, assessments)
Program Excellence
  • Champion CARF accreditation standards
  • Manage budgets and ensure financial accountability
  • Liaise with Ministry of Children & Family Development (MCFD)
  • Build strong community partnerships
On‑the‑Ground Support
  • Provide emergency on-call support (shared rotation)
  • Step in to backfill positions when needed
  • Stay connected to the day‑to‑day realities of residential care
What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:

    Diploma or degree (minimum 2 years) in Child & Youth Care, Social Work, or related field
  • Experience:

    3 years of recent related experience, including 1 year in supervisory or administrative role
  • Residential Background: 2 years working in a residential setting
  • Specialized Training:
    Behavioral modification, working with children under 12 with support needs, attachment-based parenting, trauma-informed practice
  • Current

    Certifications:

    First Aid, CPR, Food Safe, Valid Class V BC Driver's License
  • Clearances: MCFD Record Check (including Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check), satisfactory Driver's Abstract and Driver Factor Report
