DescriptionMaintain bike trails at Big White Ski Resort:
- Remove and clear trees and other debris from bike trails.
- Construct and maintain wooden features within bike park.
- Construct new trails and/or features as directed by bike park management.
- Build water diversion structures and maintain existing drainages.
- Repair damaged bike trails due to erosion and rider use.
Additional responsibilities: Operate gas powered equipment including, but not limited to; brush saws, pole saws and string trimmers.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills and Ability:
- Passion and interest in mountain biking.
- Knowledge of trail building techniques.
- Self-motivated with the ability to oversee others
- Ability to interact and communicate courteously with guests, coworkers and management.
- Ability to work with basic hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pulaski and mcLeod.
- Non-biased, tolerant, and objective.
- Disciplined, responsible, accountable and able to delegate tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work with battery powered tools.
- Ability to be flexible.
- Ability to ride a mountain bike at a intermediate to advanced level.
Experience:
- Minimum one year of previous trail maintenance and/or building experience required.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as skid steer, back-hoe, mini-excavator, four-wheeler considered an asset
- Experience with chainsaw and sawyer techniques considered an asset
- Experience with carpentry and battery powered tools (drills, circular saw etc) considered an asset.
Working Environment:
- Outdoor work in a mountain environment with variable weather conditions.
- Extended time outdoors with heavy lifting tasks.
Physical
Activities:
- Heavy lifting, must be able to lift and carry heavy loads up to 50lbs
- Raking, Shoveling, operating equipment.
- Bending, Walking, Lifting, Pushing, Standing.

Location: Big White Bike Park, British Columbia
Position duration: Early June to Late September (weather dependent)
Salary: Training and starting wage - $20.50/hr
