Work Location:
Onsite – Tracy CA. We’re looking for a Forklift Operator – Inventory Control to prepare food and operate several different types of equipment. The role trains or operates various equipment in different work areas and performs progressively more responsible tasks. The position requires independence and a solid knowledge of various processes. The operator acts as a resource regarding processes, procedures, and equipment to other Associates and Trainees.
Follows all health and safety standards and enforces the use of PPEs.
- Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them in assigned places
- Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
- Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
- Transport raw materials to production workstations
- Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance
- Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
- Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
- Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities, work with a high level of independence to receive foods, run assembly lines to recipe specifications, follow Good Manufacturing Practices, and meet health and safety standards
- Rotate and check food ingredients for freshness and quality. May receive products and verify the accuracy of the delivery. Ensure accurate traceability methods are followed
- Keep work area/assembly clean, demonstrating clean-as-you-go methods
- Prepare and understand a variety of paperwork associated with raw materials, traceability, packaging, quality, and controls. Responsible for timely completion and accuracy of paperwork
- May assist Associate Trainees with developing their skills and experience applying processes, using new equipment, and championing a project or team effort
- Ensure all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed and may champion the GMP processes. At times may be assigned to other areas other than where they usually work
- Use computer software and electronic equipment to enter data, show receipt of goods, time spent preparing products, equipment used, etc.
- Ensure correct usage of SAP B1 ERP system
- In coordination with the team lead, identify issues with the product, Food Safety, Quality, or equipment, and escalate matters to other departments or to higher levels when needed
- Performs other tasks and duties as needed
- Basic computer skills and the ability to multi-task
- Basic knowledge of how to operate packaging machinery and PLC Screen
- Ability to read, write and speak English; comprehension of basic math
- Willingness and flexibility to work in a cold, wet, fast-paced, 24-hour plant environment
- Minimum of 12 months of Forklift Operator experience required
- Minimum of 12 months working in a manufacturing environment applying standard processes, procedures, and equipment
- Experience in applying and enforcing routine Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in a chilled food environment is preferred
- Forklift Certified required
- Ability to follow all appropriate safety standards in food production

The wage for this position is $21.00/hour
