Position located in Tracy, California.

Executes duties as a Child and Youth Program Assistant in a Child and Youth Services program, ensuring the safety and well‑being of children and youth while delivering age‑appropriate activities.

• Maintains control and accounts for whereabouts and safety of children and youth.
• Plans, coordinates, and conducts activities that meet the physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs for program participants.
• Establishes a program environment that sustains participant interest and promotes positive interactions.
• Prepares, arranges, and maintains indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials for daily schedules and provides program options for children with special requirements.
• Maintains program participation data and completes daily reports.

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age at time of appointment.
• A one‑year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactory completion of an employment verification (E‑Verify) check.
• Must have a current health assessment documenting good mental and physical health; immunizations in accordance with current Army and DoD policy.
• May be subject to irregular hours, evenings and/or weekends.
• For positions in Child Development Centers, possess physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs., walk, bend, stoop, and stand routinely.
• Legally required to report all suspected incidents of child abuse/neglect.
• May be required to administer medications, perform CPR and first aid, and provide reasonable accommodations to children/youth with special needs.
• Travel to on‑ and off‑post locations may be required. Duties involve working indoors and outdoors.
li>Satisfactory completion of pre‑employment background checks in accordance with AR 215‑3 and a Child Care Tier 1 investigation is required.
• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• Successful completion of required annual training within the prescribed timeframe and demonstrate on‑the‑job competence.

• High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
• Must be able to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
• For Entry Level (CY‑01): must have a high school diploma or GED and meet communication requirement.
