A position that requires water and wastewater experience and a deep understanding of public, private, and industrial markets. The successful candidate will understand the technology and engineering involved in water and wastewater and command a collaborative project delivery methodology.
What you will be doing- Establish and maintain relationships with regional public, private, and industrial clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with regional Operations teams to develop and lead business development strategy.
- Investigate and understand clients’ internal business processes, needs, and project drivers to discuss relevant challenges.
- Lead the Go/No-Go decision-making process by providing critical information to regional Operations teams to determine viability.
- Lead proposal process for services in response to invitations to bid and direct the proposal team from inception to completion.
- Demonstrate leadership in the water market, engaging in associations and conferences as an industry leader and presenter.
- Lead development and execution of regional/industry marketing and branding plans with corporate marketing staff.
- Develop a thorough understanding of regional trends and competition, staying aware of recent project awards.
- Work closely with Marketing, Estimating, and Operations teams to develop strategies for introducing Garney to prospective clients.
- Document all prospect activity in CRM system.
- Efficiently manage time to focus on highest priority activities that align with strategy.
- 4‐year degree or equivalent preferred;
Engineering or Construction Management a plus. - Minimum 5 years of diversified experience in water infrastructure programs, project management, and strategic business development.
- Comprehensive understanding of CMAR, Design‐Build, P3, and other collaborative delivery methods.
- Prior business development or sales experience is a plus.
- Proposal development and creative writing skills are a plus.
- Strong work ethic, self‐motivated and results‐driven.
- Strong organizational and follow‐up skills.
- Proven record of creating interest for technical products or services.
- Consistently exceed expectations on meeting goals.
- Adaptability to a fast‐paced, informal environment with constant change.
- Enjoy collaborating with clients and understanding diverse personalities and business needs.
- Willingness to travel occasionally with short notice; flexible schedule.
- Pay range $150,000‐$250,000.
