Position:
Senior Industrial Engineer – Melissa & Doug warehouse and transportation operations (across the U.S.). This role leads continuous improvement initiatives and capital projects to reduce operating costs, improve safety outcomes, and elevate service metrics. The engineer applies lean principles and data-driven analysis, collaborates with warehouse and logistics teams, the I.E. and Analytics Senior Lead, and cross-functional partners to identify opportunities, recommend solutions, and support implementation of sustainable improvements across the distribution network.

The anticipated pay range for candidates who will work in New Jersey is $105,000 to $115,000 per annum. Spin Master Inc. is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work only in other states.

• Lead and support initiatives aimed at improving productivity, reducing waste, and enhancing service levels.
• Apply Lean principles (5S, Kaizen) to identify inefficiencies and implement sustainable improvements.
• Collaborate with warehouse teams to identify root causes of performance gaps and develop corrective actions.
• Support teams in identifying opportunities to reduce indirect spend and improve operational cost efficiency.
• Assist in harmonizing business processes across facilities to improve consistency and scalability.
• Conduct time and motion studies using MOST or similar techniques to establish engineered labor standards.
• Develop and maintain labor planning tools to support workforce forecasting and scheduling.
• Analyze indirect labor spend and identify optimization opportunities.
• Support warehouse teams in developing and validating productivity standards for key operational activities.
• Lead warehousing and logistics special projects, including peak planning and process optimization efforts.
• Represent the logistics function in corporate initiatives such as ESG reporting and system upgrades.
• Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) for SAP and WMS enhancements.
• Support capital investment planning, including ROI analysis and implementation tracking.
• Support change management related to systems, processes, and organizational initiatives.
• Develop SOPs for revised warehouse processes and labour standards; identify training needs and lead sessions for stakeholders.
• Promote a collaborative, accountable, and continuous improvement culture; provide input on strategic direction and operational priorities.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities; develop dashboards and reports to monitor KPIs across warehousing and transportation.
• Collaborate with finance and operations to validate and communicate results of improvement initiatives and track productivity gains and cost savings.

• Industrial engineering experience in a warehousing environment.
• Proven ability to deliver continuous improvement and organizational change using lean principles; experience developing labour standards.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, ERP/WMS systems (preferably SAP and Manhattan), and Labour Management tools (e.g. Manhattan LM); SQL and report writing experience is a plus.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) for performance reporting.
• Strong knowledge of Lean principles (Muda, Mura, Muri, 5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping) and ability to lead related training and initiatives.
• Proficiency in time studies / job analyses and labour standard development (e.g. MOST).
• Ability to problem-solve with limited data, design data collection plans, and determine appropriate analysis approaches.
• Experience with warehouse layout optimization, material flow analysis, and indirect spend reduction.
• Ability to bridge current practices with best-in-class approaches and identify waste to deploy improvements.
• Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and ROI analysis.
• Familiarity with local labour laws and safety standards (NJ, CA).
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement across organizational levels.
