Geotechnical Skilled Laborer
Pay Range: $20.00/hr – $27.00/hr (Based on experience)
We are currently looking for Geotechnical Skilled Laborers to join our Geotechnical Group across Virginia and other locations throughout the Mid‑Atlantic. The role will focus on earthwork, foundations, auger cast, and more. Work is performed outdoors year round and employees will be exposed to wet, muddy, cold, hot, and humid weather conditions. This individual must have the ability to communicate and work well with others.
Experience in earth work, auger cast, drilling, concrete, concrete pumps, welding, and small tool operation is preferred. Qualified candidates must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
This is a safety‑sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.
This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
Education Requirement- High School graduate or G.E.D. preferred with basic reading and writing skills.
- 1+ years concrete construction experience and/or heavy civil experience.
- Concrete pump and/or concrete experience/knowledge preferred.
Willing to travel Virginia and Maryland. Travel required throughout VA, DC, and MD; start location:
Ocean City.
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license is required.
- Construction experience is required, preferably concrete or ground stabilization experience and small equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Carry, load, or unload materials.
- Dig with picks, shovels, air hammers, jack hammers or other construction related equipment as required.
- Arrive to project site on‑time and participate in job discussions and daily safety meetings.
- Operate safely concrete pump.
- Work with and maintain construction related equipment when needed (grout machines, drilling machines, compressors).
- Work with hoses for all types of machines on the job site.
- Responsible for safety of self and others. Required to wear proper jobsite PPE as directed.
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground level to waist level and 30 pounds to above shoulder level throughout work shift.
- Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
- Must be able to climb ladders.
- Must be able to work at heights up to 150 feet.
- Must be able to bend, squat, kneel and crawl.
- Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
- Must have the ability to reach, lift and perform work above shoulder height and the ability to work on uneven surfaces and in confined spaces.
- Required to have acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing.
