Job Title: Painter & Drywall Technician
Reports To: Facilities Director
Location: Millennium Hall, Tubman House & Harris Hall at Towson University
Compensation: $22.00-$25.00 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SummaryThe Painter is responsible for the interior maintenance necessary to prepare and paint designated areas and buildings. This position is part of the facilities team and involves completing projects according to specific instructions and established procedures. The Painter is expected to maintain a customer-focused and professional demeanor in all interactions with internal and external customers.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Repair drywall by sealing cracks and filling holes.
- Scrape, repair, sand, and paint interior walls and ceilings as necessary.
- Maintain tools, supplies, and equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.
- Assist in cleaning up areas at the end of each workday.
- Take the lead on all painting and drywall projects assigned by the Site Facilities Director.
- Mentor Student Maintenance Assistants during the completion of painting projects or tasks.
- Assist Maintenance Staff with light duties as assigned by the Site Facilities Director.
- Report any needed supplies or equipment with sufficient notice to ensure availability when required.
- Escort authorized service vendors or contractors to designated areas within the student housing community.
- Monitor and report on the condition of painting and drywall repairs while inspecting common areas of the building.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- 3-5 years’ experience with interior / exterior painting and wall repair.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be proficient with the use of hand and power tools.
- Must have troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Must be a team player, doing normal and stressful assignments to provide the best service possible for our residents and customers.
- Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
- Ability to move and lift to 50lbs and navigate up and down stairs.
