Electrician; Towson

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs, and tests Hospital electrical power distribution system, equipment and appliance and ensures compliance with applicable codes.
• Performs preventive maintenance, documents electrical performance, and estimates electrical work. Responsible for job site and equipment care.

• Work requires, in addition to the knowledge acquired through a general high school education, a comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code demonstrated by possession of a MD Electrical Journeyman license, and the ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams to calculate power loads - acquired in high school or by a relatively brief period (more than six months but less than one year) of intensive preparation outside of school.
• Work requires a comprehensive level of electrical theory, knowledge of installation, testing, repair and maintenance of electrical wiring and equipment, computerized energy management systems - acquired through two to four years of progressively more responsible electrical experience in a commercial or institutional facility. A general knowledge of mechanical equipment and the proper use of various power tools.
• Work requires interpersonal skills sufficient to occasionally exchange information with Hospital staff and patients concerning electrical work required.
• Work requires performing electrical repairs or installations very frequently requires sustained periods of concentration and attention to detail.
• Work requires walking to complete errands throughout the building and grounds and performing activities such as reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, repetitive motion, talking, and moderate hearing. Requires mid-range vision, depth perception, and field of vision.
• Must possess a current, valid Maryland Driver's License that has 2 or fewer points on it at time of hire. Must meet Sheppard Pratt requirements to operate a vehicle.

The pay range for this position is $24.08/hr minimum to $40.15/hr maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience.
