• Location: Towson, MD 21204 (Baltimore area) — Maryland nursing jobs
• Unit: Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) / Cardiac ICU
• Start Date: April 6, 2026
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3x12-hour nights (19:00 - 07:30); possible rotation to days (07:00 - 19:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
• Holiday Requirement: As scheduled
• On-Call: 24-32 hours per 8-week schedule
• Floating: Required to MSICU as needed
• Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Beds on Unit: 6 (Average daily census 3-5)
• Candidate Requirement: Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (travel nurse eligibility)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,110–$2,220

• Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU / Cardiac ICU RN experience required — cardiac critical care experience preferred
• Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license accepted
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA only)
• CPI certification required (The Calm Every Storm online version accepted)
• OCN and TCCN certifications preferred
• Experience with Epic EMR / Epic charting system required
• Ability to float to MSICU as needed and participate in on-call rotation
• Must provide two satisfactory professional references (one supervisor/manager and one charge RN)
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• First-time travel nurses with strong CVICU experience are welcome to apply

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in the pipeline CVICU (Cardiac ICU Registered Nurse duties)
• Manage post-operative cardiac surgery patients (CABG, MVR, AVR), cardiac surgery re-admissions, and structural heart procedures (TAVR, mitral clips)
• Care for STEMI/NSTEMI patients, cardiogenic shock, and complex cardiac cases requiring advanced critical care
• Monitor and manage advanced therapies including ECMO, Impella, IABP, CRRT, and inotropic/vasoactive support
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and perform invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• Perform and manage central lines, arterial lines, and other invasive monitoring devices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, IV team, physical therapy, and physicians
• Float to MSICU as needed and participate in scheduled on-call coverage
• Follow infection prevention, isolation precautions, and document care accurately using Epic EMR
