Travel RN - Psychiatric

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health RN with strong pediatric/children's experience for a 13-week psychiatric hospital assignment requiring every-other-weekend availability.

Job Details

• Work in the Behavioral Health unit of a 337-bed psychiatric hospital,

• Primarily serves a pediatric/children's patient population - strong children's experience is essential,

• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM),

• Every other weekend required,

• No on-call required,

• Floating within scope to meet facility needs is expected,

• Charting is done via Allscripts Sunrise EMR,

• Local candidates are accepted for this position,

Job Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license - permanent license required (temporary licenses are not accepted),

• Current BLS certification required; CPI preferred,

• Minimum 2 years of behavioral health RN experience required,

• Charge RN experience preferred,

• Allscripts (Sunrise) EMR experience preferred,

• Must be able to pass a drug screen on the first attempt - the facility does not accept candidates who would test positive for marijuana, regardless of prescription or medical card status,

• Driver's license and Social Security card copies required for consideration,

• Two professional references required for consideration,

• Fingerprinting must be completed in Maryland via Live Scan prior to start - out-of-state candidates may request a deadline extension but must have the receipt in hand before their start date,

• RNs may be assigned charge nurse duties during a shift,

• Facility scrub color is Navy Blue,

• Free parking is available throughout the campus,

• Up to 1 pre-approved RTO request is allowed; RTO must be submitted at the time of initial profile - requests made after submission are not guaranteed and must be coordinated directly with the facility,

• Orientation is held every other Thursday; all documentation must be submitted two Mondays prior to orientation by noon EST,

• Completion of online modules (averaging 8 hours) is required during orientation and annually, administered through the Relias/Net Learning portal,

• Candidates who have previously been permanently employed at this facility must wait a full year before being considered for a travel position,

• Candidates who have applied for a permanent position at this facility must also wait one full year before being considered as a traveler,
