Data Manager (Architect), Washington, DC/Remote

Our client, located in Washington, DC, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a contract to hire opportunity.

Description

Our client is currently seeking a Mid-Level Data Manager (Architect) to join their team in Washington, DC. In this role, you will help to establish their customer's data governance program and develop a data strategy for all data management functions. You will also identify and document existing data architecture, develop data requirements, and build data models.

Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders to identify and document existing data architecture specifications.
• Create a formal data governance policies and programs.
• Develop proposals and strategies for solving data management problems with the enterprise approach.
• Gather and analyze data requirements.
• Build conceptual, logical and physical data models.
• Prepare and present client-facing deliverables.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant Information Technology experience.
• Expertise in enterprise data management including data discovery, integration, and governance.
• Expertise in data architecture and design for both structured and unstructured data.
• Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written) to a wide range of audiences.
• Ability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders including business leads, vendors, technical staff and project managers.
• Experience in tools and approaches used in data discovery and data profiling.
• Familiarity working with one major cloud-based data platform (AWS, Azure or GC).
