This role requires strong experience within the electrical utility industry, including high voltage transmission lines, substations, distribution systems, HVDC converter stations, and renewable energy generation facilities. The Field Safety Manager II will provide leadership in implementing safety programs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a proactive safety culture across complex electrical construction environments.

The Field Safety Manager II serves as the primary safety liaison between clients, contractors, subcontractors, and project leadership while supporting overall project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead field execution of project safety management scope of work for electrical infrastructure projects
  • Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Safety Management Plans and Site-Specific Safety Plans
  • Review contractor safety plans, work plans, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for compliance with regulatory, contractual, and electrical utility standards

  • Verify completion of project EHS orientation training for all personnel prior to site access
  • Support emergency response planning and coordination with local agencies
  • Prepare monthly safety performance reports and executive-level briefings as required
  • Promote innovation, continuous improvement, and proactive risk mitigation strategies specific to high voltage electrical construction
  • Foster a strong safety culture that emphasizes leadership, accountability, and engagement rather than simple compliance
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or related discipline, or equivalent experience
OSHA 30-hour certification or equivalent health and safety training
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in construction safety management within the electrical utility industry
