The TU Center for STEM Excellence is hiring an Education & Outreach Coordinator to deliver hands‑on STEM field trips (grades 3–12) at the Sci Tech Student Learning Lab and support our programs.
Responsibilities and Duties- Teach engaging STEM lessons for K–12 students.
- Build communication, leadership, and lab skills (PCR, gel electrophoresis, etc.).
- Learn program and event logistics.
- Gain administrative and grant project experience.
- Strengthen your résumé with professional skills for education, nonprofits, and STEM fields.
- Lead and/or co‑lead classes in the Sci Tech Student Learning Lab for grades 3–12.
- Support lab operations by preparing equipment and materials for Sci Tech classes and Loaner Lab kits.
- Provide logistics & admin support for educational programs.
- Note:
the position is located at the TU Center for STEM Excellence in the Inner Harbor of Baltimore (701
E. Pratt St., 21202) and not on TU’s main campus.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and problem‑solving skills.
- One year of experience working with K‑12 students.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, One Drive, Google tools, Zoom, and similar platforms.
- Flexibility, patience, and a growth mindset.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Background in a STEM/Computer Science/Education field.
- Prior teaching/instructional experience in formal or informal STEM education.
Hourly rate of $22/hr contractual employees scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage.
